If you like Mythbusters, then you are my friend. Well, give or take. Being my friend takes hard work, money and candy. Lots of candy. Good candy. Not the crappy candy my grandmother buys like Werther's Originals. Who am I kidding. I'll take a Werther's. Come here grandma friend.
You'll also like Youtube channel Tested.com since Adam Savage and Jamie Hyneman make appearances from time to time on their videos (More Adam than Jamie, which comes with no surprise I'm sure).
Adam recently put out a video touring his "Cave" (not man cave, because... you know... women can have caves too. Jerks.), and it's pretty amazing. Some non-clutter/minimalist people will probably have a heart attack, but it's still pretty amazing. He shows you mostly his tools and some organizational techniques that I love as well as some props he either made or bought.
From watching some of his "One Day Build" videos on here as well as the "Still Untitled" podcasts, I have learned a lot. They are fairly interested and pretty good for beginner/wannabe DIYers such as myself. I also think they are good for more experienced workers too. But I'm not experienced enough to speak for them. Judge much?!
At the end of the video, he mentions you can tour his cave virtually on google maps. He gave a hint that you had to click on a manhole cover to access it. But with the wonder of the internet, magic, hackery, and youtube comments, here it is: Adam Savage's Cave
Seeing what he can make, what he has in his cave, and what I have seen on Mythbusters, makes me realize he has a good chance surviving an apocalypse. So now I need to find a way to be BFF's with Adam Savage. If you have any ideas, please let me know. Pronto! And if Adam by chance reads this, I will do ANYTHING to be your friend. ANYTHING! Well, not anything. I have standards.
Have fun. Soak it in. Be jealous. I know I am.
